    Single Life’s Exciting Sarah

    2011 - 09.28

    Sarah Harding is feeling positive.

She’s spoken for the first time about her split from Tom Crane.

There are no signs of the Girls Aloud star feeling sorry for herself.

It was DJ Tom that confirmed the pair’s break-up on Twitter earlier this month, saying they were taking a break.

But we’ve been waiting with baited breath to hear from the lovely Sarah herself.

Fresh from the catwalk at London Fashion Week, the 29-year-old is finally ready to talk.

She told Look magazine: I’m excited, scared. I’m ready to take another leap.

“I’m entering a whole new chapter and it’s scary. Hopefully, the best is yet to come.”

Sarah is believed to have split from fiance Tom because of the long distance between them. While Sarah is based in Buckinghamshire, Tom’s music meant he spent the majority of his time in Ibiza.

Sarah added: “I feel a little more at ease with what’s going on in my life. I know where my career’s at.

“I know what I want out of life. I’m just going to carry on as normal, doing what I do.

Sarah Harding Interview Look Magazine Show

    2011 - 09.19

A GIRL with a broken heart can either wallow in self-pity and chocolate ice cream… or glam the hell up.

Sarah Harding, with her stunning new red hair, looks to be doing the latter.

The Girls Aloud star has ditched her engagement ring after splitting from DJ fiancée Tom Crane.

Waving her bare hand in front of me, she grinned: “The finger says it all.”

Then she strutted along the catwalk at the Look Magazine Show at Westfield Stratford City.

The couple split last month following a row in Ibiza. But sources say they plan to attempt a reconciliation when he returns from his DJing stint on the party island in October.

However, Sarah, 29, certainly won’t be moping around, waiting for his return, if her new red-hot hairdo is anything to go by.

“I fancied a change,” she says. “And I thought, ‘What better time to debut a new look?’”

“I’m growing it out and I’m going strawberry blonde, I don’t want to be white blonde anymore.

“But at the moment, I’m Team Ginge like Nicola!” Sarah’s four bandmates – Nicola, Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh and Nadine Coyle – have been there to support her in the aftermath of her split.

“We’ve all been in contact over the last couple of weeks,” reveals Sarah. “It’s hard to get all of us together but we are having dinner together this week.

“It’ll only be four of us, as Nadine’s still in the US, but she’s coming back at the end of the month.

“We reminisce a lot when we’re together – we talk about being on tour. It’s been a while, and I’m getting itchy feet…”

The girls are preparing to reunite next year to celebrate their 10th anniversary together.

“We don’t know exactly what we’ll do yet, that’s what we’re trying to figure out,” says Sarah.

“We’ll do what we’re good at, and hopefully get some more No1s!”

Sarah says she’s proud of Cheryl, 28, who has flown to Afghanistan to film a special tribute to the troops for the Daily Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards, which take place next month.

“I’d have loved to have gone,” says Sarah. “She’s nails, though. She’ll have been like, [impersonates Cheryl’s Geordie accent] ‘Aye, don’t f*** with me, man!’”

    2011 - 09.05
When Sarah Harding decided on a radical colour change earlier this month she chose leading hair expert Mathew Soobroy at Charles Worthington in London to do it for her. He runs a bespoke ‘Atelier’ hair style consultancy for anyone thinking of going for a big, scary ‘can I really pull it off’ change.
“Sarah came in and was keen to do something radical so I put a few dark coloured wigs on her first so she could see what they’d look like. The aim is to see what colour would most suit your skin tone, face shape and personality. They completely changed her look and she felt confident enough to actually go for it,” he says.
“To achieve her blonde to brunette, rich deep chocolate brown, you need to pre-colour the hair to act as a base. I used brown and copper filler and processed for 20 minutes. Then after taking it off I rinsed and blast dried the hair to prepare for the final shade – a mixture of natural brown with an iridescent dark brown ammonia free colour. She’ll need top ups fortnightly for the next two applications and then a monthly colour after that. For her cut, I reduced the length by a few inches using a razor to achieve a shattered finish, then took out weight and added a sliced effect layer to texture. To finish and style the look I blow dried using an elixir oil to retain moisture and shine, randomly ironed over sections to give it edge and put in a low side parting to get the look. Finish using a definition paste to separate and define.”
