Kimberley Walsh is Proud of Sarah Harding

On November 29, 2011, in Sarah Harding, by SarahIsABabe

Kimberley Walsh is ”proud” of her Girls Aloud bandmate Sarah Harding for being ”brave” enough to admit she had a problem and checking into rehab.

Kimberley Walsh is “proud” of Sarah Harding for going to rehab.

The Girls Aloud singer thinks her bandmate – who recently checked out of a facility in Utah, where she had been receiving treatment for “depression and alcohol addiction” – is “brave” to admit she had a problem and needed help.

She said: “You can’t blame Sarah for knocking it on the head. It is brave as some people can’t face up to thins, and she obviously knew she had a problem and could help herself, and I’m proud of her for doing that.”

Kimberley recently threw a lavish party to celebrate turning 30 and was sad that Sarah couldn’t celebrate with her as they have their birthdays within three days of one another but she is looking forward to helping her friend mark reaching the milestone age in the coming weeks.

She added in an interview with Britain’s OK! Magazine: “In the past, we’ve had joint parties and we were both 30 this year, so it was sad not having her at my milestone birthday.

“We just want her back home now, safe, sound and back to normal.

Looking healthy and relaxed, Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding takes her first steps back to normality after completing rehab for alcohol abuse and depression.

Taking a stroll with a friend after checking out of a clinic abroad, Sarah, 29, looks in a world far removed from the “caner” lifestyle she revelled in. Her newly-dyed red hair is scraped back to reveal a tanned face glowing without make-up.

Now her next hurdle is to see if she can salvage her four-year relationship with DJ Tom Crane, 31.

The pair had been due to marry next summer but Sarah called off their engagement shortly before entering rehab eight weeks ago after a series of rows.

A pal said: “They’ve been in regular contact throughout her time away but only on the phone. They’ve spoken most days and it seems like they could have a chance of giving it another shot.

“She still loves Tommy… she’s just not sure if things can get back to where they were.”

Sarah will be back in the UK next week to celebrate her belated 30th birthday quietly with family.

She has Girls Aloud’s 10th anniversary reunion tour to look forward to next year. “She’s got herself together and she’s ready to get back to some sort of normal life,” said a source. “It’s all about taking things easy, but she’s hoping she’s conquered her demons for good.”

As a fixture on the London club circuit, Sarah was constantly photographed looking worse for wear. She once boasted: “Only pussies go to rehab.”

A spokesman confirmed Sarah had left her treatment centre.
