Sarah Harding Prepares For Life After Girls Aloud
Girl Kerchingers
BRITAIN’S young girl singing stars have had sensational rises in wealth, it was revealed yesterday.
Girls Aloud beauty Cheryl Cole, 26, saw her fortune soar by a massive 150 PER CENT last year – from £4million to £10million.
Cheryl’s Girls Aloud bandmates Nadine Coyle, 24, Sarah Harding, 28, Nicola Roberts, 24, and Kimberley Walsh, 24, enter the chart for the first time with £5million each. Another new entry is Lily Allen, 24, who also has £5million.
Girls Aloud launch festival lashes
Festival goers may be wearing girl band-inspired false eyelashes this year, according to Marie Claire magazine.
The publication noted that Girls Aloud have launched a range of eyelash extensions themed around the UK’s music festival season.
A limited edition range features a pair for each of the five members of the band, with the lashes designed by Nicola Roberts and created by Eylure.
The girls teamed up with the firm earlier in their career to launch a successful collection of signature lashes and may be hoping to see fans wearing them at events such as Glastonbury and T In The Park.
While Cheryl Cole’s version is gold-dusted, Nadine Coyle’s have a row of glittering gems and Kimberley Walsh’s have feathery flicks.
The design Nicola chose for herself features a double set to add definition to the eye, but it is Sarah Harding’s model which caught Marie Claire’s attention.
“The most eye-catching of the bunch has to be Sarah’s though, which are painted with a vibrant red leopard print,” the magazine noted.
Girls Aloud have been on a year-long break, with members concentrating on their own projects.
Girls Aloud – The Promise up for an Ivor Novello award
Girls Aloud The Promise has been nomiated for an Ivor Novello awards. Written by Nick Coler, Miranda Cooper, Brian Higgins, Kieran Jones, Tim Powell, Jason Resch and Carla Williams.
The 55th Ivor Novello Awards take place at London’s Grosvenor House on May 20.
Girls Aloud Need A ‘Miracle’?
Girls Aloud’s main songwriter believes “it will be a small miracle” if the band continues.
Brian Higgins – the producer at the centre of pop producers Xenomania, who have worked with the girl group since their debut single ‘Sound of the Underground’ and on nearly all of their hits since – believes group has enjoyed an unusually long career for a modern pop act and is unsure if they will work together again
He told website ponystep.com: “If the band continues it will be a small miracle, but then, every album was for me anyway. That’s why we put so much into it, because we couldn’t believe that they’d come back to us. We never assumed they would, ever.
“I think that the body of work in terms of released songs is 110 or 120 songs now. It is very rare that anyone will do that again, that any group coming from any scene will release five or six albums, because careers just don’t last that long.”
The girl group – consisting of Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh – have been on hiatus over the last year with each of them pursuing different solo projects, including music, acting, fashion and TV.
Earlier this week, Nicola revealed none of the other girls have heard from Nadine – who is presently in the US finishing her debut solo album – for months.
She said: “If I’m really honest, we haven’t spoken to Nadine since we did the Coldplay gig at Wembley in September. I talked to the other girls about it no, none of us have heard from her. But there is no feud.”

Cheryl fur y at Nadine in Girls Aloud band battle
Cheryl Cole is at war with fellow Girls Aloud singer Nadine Coyle – and she’s backed by her other three bandmates.
The Geordie beauty insists Nadine has failed to support her following her split from cheating husband Ashley.
And “wor lass” Cheryl scoffed at Nadine’s claim that she tried to get in touch with the X Factor judge when both were in Los Angeles earlier this month.
Cheryl, 26, is supported by bandmates Kimberly Walsh, 28, Nicola Roberts, 24, and Sarah Harding, 28.
And they are convinced that the Irishborn Nadine’s behaviour is the latest example of her lack of commitment to the band.
But Nadine is busy on a solo album in Los Angeles and sources say she could be considering a future apart from the band.
The four girls have accused Nadine, 25, of breaking one of the band’s unwritten rules by giving an interview last weekend in which she discussed Cheryl in public.
Nadine claimed she DID call Cheryl and emailed her after England and Chelsea defender Ashley Cole’s lovecheating antics were revealed. A source close to Girls Aloud said: “Cheryl feels completely betrayed by Nadine. She is hurt that she didn’t hear from her after Ashley’s cheating but feels even more upset and angry that Nadine came out in public to insist that she had tried to get in touch with her.
”The rest of the band are even more disgusted with Nadine’s behaviour and are fully behind Cheryl.
Pretended “They have been together for seven years and have got a pact that they support one another through the tough times.
”The support and help Cheryl has had from the other girls has been tremendous but Nadine hasn’t bothered.
”Not only has she not bothered but she has pretended to the band’s fans that she has been a great friend and has been the one who has been shunned but that is complete rubbish.
”Cheryl’s world was shattered when she found out Ashley had been cheating on her again and she quite rightly expected her friends to be there for her. Most of the band were, except Nadine.”
Despite Nadine breaking the most important unwritten rule between the girls, it is not serious enough to drop her.
Last week Nadine insisted she offered Cheryl a shoulder to cry on when she flew out to Los Angeles just days after learning Ashley, 29, had cheated on her several times.
Nadine said: “I sent Cheryl an email and called her. I was like ‘Hi.’ And she said ‘I’m in LA’. I was working on my album and dashing around. She was working and doing her thing. She wasn’t here for very long so we didn’t get the chance to meet up.”
Nadine also claimed she has tried to meet up with Sarah Harding, 28, but like her claims about Cheryl, that has been denied by the band.
The source added: “Nadine has separated herself from the other girls.
”She decided she wanted to make something of herself in America and due to this some questioned her commitment to the band.
”While she was away the other girls would never hear from her, which upset them as they have been through so much over the years.
Upset “But now she has started speaking out, they’ve had it with her.
”They have realised that they will have to continue to work with Nadine but at the moment they are not sure quite how they are going to do it.”
Last night sources close to Nadine said she is still adamant she had tried to support her bandmate.
One said: “Nadine and Cheryl have been friends for years. She insists that she did make contact. Maybe it’s a case of a misunderstanding, messages didn’t get through or something like that.”
Girls Aloud to continue as four-piece?
Girls Aloud are reportedly considering continuing as a four-piece without Nadine Coyle.
Band member Sarah Harding recently said that she has not seen Coyle for “ages” and is unsure of the group’s future, while Kimberley Walsh has previously hinted that Coyle is holding up the group’s reunion.
According to the News of the World, the band were angry when they read that Coyle said she has no plans to work on new Girls Aloud material this year.
“They’re tired of her mucking them around,” a source revealed. “The girls always had the end of 2010 booked in to record their next album and all of them, other than Nadine, still want to go ahead.
“If Nadine refuses they could simply go ahead as the four of them. It’s not ideal and they would rather find a way to make it work, but she doesn’t seem to be interested in that.”
The insider added that Coyle has not been in touch with any of her bandmates recently, explaining: “The other four are still best of friends and have been rallying around Cheryl [Cole] during this tough time. That’s very telling and it could be a sign of things to come. The band could survive without her. Some fans would be disappointed but they’d rather Girls Aloud continue with four members than not go on at all.”
The source concluded: “Nadine is essentially mucking the other girls around. They are ready and waiting. But it’s become clear to us her heart doesn’t seem to be in the band.”
Cheryl Cole recently confirmed that Girls Aloud have signed a deal to release at least three more albums.

Nadine Not Aloud
GIRLS ALOUD have discussed becoming a four-piece and recording a new album this year WITHOUT bandmate NADINE COYLE. A source close to the band confirmed the bombshell news and said: “They’re tired of her mucking them around.” Bandmates CHERYL COLE, SARAH HARDING, NICOLA ROBERTS and KIMBERLEY WALSH had been planning to go into the studio with Nadine in November to record their new songs.
But last week in an eXSclusive interview Nadine, who now lives in Los Angeles, told me she would definitely NOT work on Girls Aloud material this year.
The Irish star added there had been no discussions between her and the band’s management about any specific plans for the future.
That was news to her bandmates who reacted angrily because they remain committed to the band and are still expecting to enter the studio this year.
My insider explained: “The girls always had the end of 2010 booked in to record their next album and all of them, other than Nadine, still want to go ahead.
If Nadine refuses they could simply go ahead as the four of them. It’s not ideal and they would rather find a way to make it work – but she doesn’t seem interested in that.
“Nadine hasn’t been in any contact with the girls. But the other four are still best of friends and have been rallying around Cheryl during this tough time.
“That’s very telling and it could be a sign of things to come. The band could survive without her.
“Some fans might be disappointed but they’d rather Girls Aloud continue with four members than not go on at all.”
When the girls announced they were taking a break last year, they stressed they would release a new album in 2010 after signing an extra three-album deal with their record company Fascination/Polydor.
A statement from the band said: “We will definitely all be going into the studio next year to record – and there will definitely be a new GA album in 2010.”
But those plans are currently in chaos as Nadine focuses on launching her solo career.
The source said: “Nadine is essentially mucking the other girls around.
“They are ready and waiting. But it’s become clear to us her heart doesn’t seem to be in the band.”

Sarah Harding unsure about future of Girls Aloud
While the members of Girls Aloud have been concentrating on their solo careers for some time, it has been expected they would eventually reunite for more collaborations.
St Trinian’s star Sarah Harding has rocked these expectations, however, saying she is unsure about the band’s future.
“I don’t know what the future is for the band. We’ll just have to re-evaluate when the time comes. It’s hard to know,” she tells a UK magazine.
She added that she had “no idea” if the band would in fact reunite.

Harding ‘unsure on Girls Aloud future’
Sarah Harding has admitted that she is uncertain about the future of Girls Aloud.
There has been speculation that the band could split, with Cheryl Cole enjoying a successful career away from the group and Harding and Nadine Coyle planning their own solo albums.
Harding told Heat: “I don’t know what the future is for the band. We’ll just have to re-evaluate when the time comes. It’s hard to know.”
She added that she had “no idea” if the band would in fact reunite and revealed of her relationship with Coyle: “I haven’t seen her for ages.”
Cole recently claimed that Girls Aloud intend to honour their existing three-album contract.
