See ya later Girls!

It’s Curl’s Aloud for Nadine Coyle, who arrived at Heathrow sporting slick ringlets and wet-look leggings.

She was flying back to LA but it looks like Nadine, 25, might have gone another home visit without catching up with her Girls Aloud bandmates.

Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh popped in for a natter as Nicola Roberts launched her new make-up line in London this week. There’s always next time, girls eh? Or maybe not.

Girls allowed in

Is this the closest to a Girls Aloud reunion we are going to see this year? We think so. Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding treat Nicola Roberts to a slap-up meal at London’s Mandarin Oriental Hotel to celebrate her new range of Dainty Doll make-up. A source said: “The girls had a blast. It was the first time they’d been together in ages.

“Cheryl was gutted to miss out on the girlie night but couldn’t come because of X Factor.

“She sent texts through the night though so she could share their giggles.”

Girls Aloud deny plans to reunite ‘without Nadine Coyle’

Girls Aloud have hit out at reports they are planning to reunite as a four-piece without Nadine Coyle.

The girl group’s record label denied rumours Cheryl Cole, Nicola Roberts, Kimberley Walsh and Sarah Harding were planning to ‘oust’ the Northern Irish singer.

Their current hiatus was only meant to last a year – but 13 months on it looks like the girl group aren’t any close to reuniting.

Coyle, 25, has been steadily growing apart from her bandmates since moving to California with her family in 2006.

The London-based bandmates are said to have strained relations with Coyle for some time, with Walsh even blaming her for holding up the Girls Aloud reunion.

A source told The Sun: ‘Relations with her had been strained within the camp for a while. Disputes began cropping up towards the final days of the band before they went on a hiatus.

‘The four remaining girls want to return on their own terms – and avoiding any squabbles is a high priority. That’s why they have decided to go on without Nadine.’

However, the group’s spokesperson denied the reports today, saying they had signed a record deal and would be releasing their sixth studio album as a six piece. No release date has yet been given.

But with Coyle working on her debut solo album and Cole preparing to release a second solo disc, as well as her X Factor judging duties, a Girls Aloud reunion doesn’t look likely any time soon.

Since their hiatus, Walsh has been TV presenting, Roberts has launched a make-up range, while Harding has been working on her acting career, with a role in the St Trinian’s sequel and BBC drama Freefall.

In an interview in the Spring, Roberts admitted she hadn’t spoken to Coyle since last September.

The redhead told Hello!: ‘If I’m really honest, we haven’t spoken to Nadine since we did the Coldplay gig at Wembley in September. I talked to the other girls about it on Monday and no, none of us have heard from her.

A few months earlier, her bandmate Kimberley Walsh said the group was waiting for Coyle to return from LA so they could discuss the group’s future.

She said: ‘The plan is … well, basically Nadine needs to come over from LA. We need to chat and book it in because there are five people’s diaries to work around, rather than just one.’

In response, Coyle wrote on her Twitter page: ‘Laughing at people suggesting I’m holding up GA. Really?? Let’s be realistic. Open your eyes. It’s made out like I have all the power.’

Last month, Coyle admitted she was in no rush to reunite the group, revealing she was enjoying her time out on her solo project

She said: ‘We’re all still young so we don’t have that racing against the clock, and I wanted to do a solo record and everyone wants to do their own thing – Sarah with the acting, or whatever they’re doing.

‘But when we’re all back together, we’ll see then. Everything’s good, you know, we’re taking a break and everyone’s doing their own thing.’

The group were formed in November 2002 after being chosen by judges Geri Halliwell, Pete Waterman and Louis Walsh on the ITV talent show from thousands of wannabe pop stars.

Their debut single Sound Of The Underground went straight to number one, with their debut album of the same name selling over 300,000 copies.

The five-piece have enjoyed three number one singles and a further 16 top 10 hits over their seven years in the charts.

Their last single release, Untouchable, was their lowest-charting single, reaching no.11 in UK charts in April last year.

Their six albums have sold over 1.8million copies in the UK, their most successful being their greatest hits disc The Sound Of Girls Aloud, which has been certified 3x platinum.

Girl’s Alone

GIRLS ALOUD are definitely getting back together next year – but not all of them.

The fantastic five will be slimmed down to a fabulous four as NADINE COYLE will have no part in the reunion.

SARAH HARDING, NICOLA ROBERTS, KIMBERLEY WALSH and CHERYL COLE have begun sketching ideas for their comeback – but their Northern Irish bandmate does not figure in their plans.

The quartet have decided to regroup without her as they collectively feel they have all grown apart from her.

Strained

A source said: “It’s been a painful decision for Sarah, Nicola, Kimberley and Cheryl but they have decided that the future of Girls Aloud lies without Nadine.

“They’ve all been on a roller-coaster ride since 2002 and have just grown apart from Nadine.

“Relations with her had been strained within the camp for a while.

“Disputes began cropping up towards the final days of the band before they went on a hiatus.

“The four remaining girls want to return on their own terms – and avoiding any squabbles is a high priority.

“That’s why they have decided to go on without Nadine.”

The chart-conquering girl band formed in 2002 after coming together on ITV1 reality show Popstars: The Rivals. They decided to take a break in 2009 after a busy seven years in action.

Girls Aloud have released 21 singles, with four of them topping the charts.

They also issued five studio albums.

Since going their separate ways, Scouser Nicola has launched a successful range of cosmetics, Cheryl has topped the charts as a solo star and is an X Factor judge, Sarah has opened a nightclub and Kimberley has moved into TV presenting.

Nadine strained relations in the band by moving to America in 2006 after embarking on a relationship with Desperate Housewives star JESSE METCALFE.

She has remained there ever since and has opened her own bar near Los Angeles called Nadine’s Irish Mist.

Further cracks appeared when she refused to take part in the girls’ 2008 TV series The Passions Of Girls Aloud.

Since parting company with the band, she has been working on a solo album which is yet to see the light of day.

Aloud a long break

It sounds like Girls Aloud aren’t in any rush to get back into the studio anytime soon.

It feels like ages since they announced they were “taking a break”, but Kimberley Walsh, below, reveals: “Things have taken off individually more than we thought and we’re all enjoying it so we wanna go with it.”

During their break all the girls have kept themselves busy, especially Cheryl Cole who’s juggled her job as an X Factor judge with being a chart-topper.

“Whether we’re definitely going to get back together, next March or whenever, we just don’t know,” Kimberly adds.

Gulp! If you ask me it sounds like all the girls have realised things are working out without them having to share the limelight …

Girls Aloud launch festival lashes

Festival goers may be wearing girl band-inspired false eyelashes this year, according to Marie Claire magazine.

The publication noted that Girls Aloud have launched a range of eyelash extensions themed around the UK’s music festival season.

A limited edition range features a pair for each of the five members of the band, with the lashes designed by Nicola Roberts and created by Eylure.

The girls teamed up with the firm earlier in their career to launch a successful collection of signature lashes and may be hoping to see fans wearing them at events such as Glastonbury and T In The Park.

While Cheryl Cole’s version is gold-dusted, Nadine Coyle’s have a row of glittering gems and Kimberley Walsh’s have feathery flicks.

The design Nicola chose for herself features a double set to add definition to the eye, but it is Sarah Harding’s model which caught Marie Claire’s attention.

“The most eye-catching of the bunch has to be Sarah’s though, which are painted with a vibrant red leopard print,” the magazine noted.

Girls Aloud have been on a year-long break, with members concentrating on their own projects.

Girls Aloud Need A ‘Miracle’?

Girls Aloud’s songwriter and producer Brian Higgins has said ”if the band continues it will be a small miracle”.

Girls Aloud’s main songwriter believes “it will be a small miracle” if the band continues.

Brian Higgins – the producer at the centre of pop producers Xenomania, who have worked with the girl group since their debut single ‘Sound of the Underground’ and on nearly all of their hits since – believes group has enjoyed an unusually long career for a modern pop act and is unsure if they will work together again

He told website ponystep.com: “If the band continues it will be a small miracle, but then, every album was for me anyway. That’s why we put so much into it, because we couldn’t believe that they’d come back to us. We never assumed they would, ever.

“I think that the body of work in terms of released songs is 110 or 120 songs now. It is very rare that anyone will do that again, that any group coming from any scene will release five or six albums, because careers just don’t last that long.”

The girl group – consisting of Cheryl Cole, Nadine Coyle, Nicola Roberts, Sarah Harding and Kimberley Walsh – have been on hiatus over the last year with each of them pursuing different solo projects, including music, acting, fashion and TV.

Earlier this week, Nicola revealed none of the other girls have heard from Nadine – who is presently in the US finishing her debut solo album – for months.

She said: “If I’m really honest, we haven’t spoken to Nadine since we did the Coldplay gig at Wembley in September. I talked to the other girls about it no, none of us have heard from her. But there is no feud.”
