Meet Lucius the O2 happiest cat

lucius

You might remember a few weeks ago Sarah helped to judge the happiest cat competition, well the lucky winner was announced yesterday.

Cat loving Sarah Harding added: ‘His story and energy made sure he was a cat’s whisker ahead of the competition. I can see great things in his future – keep smiling Lucius!’

Here is the cat who got the cream.

After launching the UK’s first cat auditions a few weeks back, O2 have found the country’s happiest feline and here he is in his first photo-shoot as the new face of the brand.

Named Lucius, judges including Girls Aloud and Coronation Street star Sarah Harding, picked the two-year-old moggie out of over one hundred other entrants. As well as winning a year’s supply of cat food, Lucius will now front the next O2 campaign as they promote the O2 Refresh tariff.

As well as dazzling blue and green eyes, it’s his distinctive smile and loving nature which appears to have won the judges over.

The beautiful looking pet, from Northampton, has reached the dizzying heights of showbiz after a difficult start to life when he was nearly killed after being run over.

Lucius’ owner, Jess Revitt, said: ‘We thought he’d never smile again. Now, after a miraculous recovery our beautiful cat will be famous in an O2 Refresh advert and using his smile to cheer up the nation. I couldn’t be more proud of my best friend.’

Sarah Harding on Coronation Street: I have butterflies thinking about my Weatherfield role

002

The ex-Girls Aloud singer, from Stockport, says she is feeling the pressure as she gears up for life on the cobbles.

Former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding says she has ‘butterflies’ in her stomach as she gets ready for her role in Coronation Street.

Harding, who will be making her debut in Corrie in the next few weeks, says she’s feeling the pressure as she prepares for filming on the Weatherfield cobbles.

The 33-year-old, who was born in Stockport, was announced as playing a new character – and rival of troublemaker Tracy Barlow – last month.
Her scenes will air in four episodes in July.

Describing her excitement, Sarah said: “No-one believed it – I was like, cheers guys.

“I was over the moon because I’ve been a fan of the show for years. My mum got me into it because I lived in Manchester for a long time.

“I grew up down south, but I lived in Manchester for a while because my mum’s family are from there so, yeah, I’ve just been a fan for years and to actually get to tread on those cobbles, and actually be part of that and get involved is just incredible.”

Even though she hasn’t started filming yet, she did say she’s had her first walk around on set.

“I’ve had my little walk around, and meet and greets and it’s been really cool and I love it there.

“The first time I went was last year for the Meal Appeal for Good Morning Britain so that’s when it all came about, because I got chatting and they were like ‘You act, don’t you?’ and I said yeah, and they could see that I was a real fan because I kept saying ‘Oh my god, oh my god, look!’ and wanting pictures everywhere, like outside the Rovers and they said they might have something for me.

“I just hope I can do everyone proud because the pressure is on now.

“I’m nervous now, I’m excited but I’m also getting butterflies thinking about it but I’m looking forward to it.”

And singer Sarah also revealed she would rather be a judge on Britain’s Got Talent, and not The X Factor.

The soon-to-be-Coronation Street star said she would love to join the judging panel of BGT.

Harding, who was speaking while judging the O2 Refresh campaign to find Britain’s ‘happiest cat’, said: “I would love to do something like that.

“I think Britain’s Got Talent more than something like The X Factor, even though I’m a singer, because they all look like they have such a laugh and there’s variety as well, which is great.
“I love it and I’m hooked on it this year. I just love that dog that keeps hypnotising Simon Cowell.”

The winning cat will be revealed on May 21, alongside its advertising debut. It will become the new face of O2’s tariff O2 Refresh.
