Sarah Harding Missed Out On The Role Of Emma Frost In X-Men

Although many of us believed that the singer/actress was only up for a minor role in the Matthew Vaughn directed movie, Harding has now revealed that she narrowly missed out on the role of Emma Frost…
Remember a little while back when I came across a report that claimed the British singer turned actress was up for a role as “…a femme fatale baddie” in the upcoming prequel/reboot/mess? If not, you can find that story HERE but read on to hear what Harding herself had to say about very nearly starring in the movie as well as the surprising news that she was up for a major role!

“I got called back three times for ‘X-Men’ but I missed out on the part to January Jones which was fine, she’s a more established actress, but I was pleased to have got that far down the line.”

I’ve not seen Hardy in anything but I am a little surprised that she was up for a major role like Emma Frost! Are you disappointed that she wont star in the movie? Are you even more disappointed by the fact we wont get to see her in the comic book characters sexy outfit? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

X-Men: First Class is set to be released on June 3, 2011!

Sarah Harding’s X-Men Near-Miss

Sarah Harding came close to winning the role of Emma Frost in ‘X-Men: First Class’, getting called back three times to audition.

Sarah Harding got called back for three ‘X-Men: First Class’ auditions.

The Girls Aloud beauty – who has starred in the ‘St. Trinians’ movies – narrowly missed out on the role of Emma Frost to actress January Jones in the superhero action prequel, but is thrilled she got so far.

She said: “I got called back three times for ‘X-Men’ but I missed out on the part to January Jones which was fine, she’s a more established actress, but I was pleased to have got that far down the line.”

Sarah has been offered several roles recently, but plans to wait until a more powerful part comes up.

She explained to OK! magazine: “I’m getting quite a few offers but I’m being quite picky. I thought Uma Thurman was great in ‘Kill Bill’ – I’d love a kick a*s role!”

‘X-Men: First Class’ started filming last month, and tells the tale of the early relationship between Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr, features an all star cast including Nicholas Hoult, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Kevin Bacon.

Sarah Harding has X appeal

GIRLS ALOUD stunner Sarah Harding did little to quash rumours she’s going solo by telling us she’s been secretly recording.

While gossiping with us at V Festival, our fave singer, 28, revealed: “I missed the first day of V as I was stuck in the studio recording all day. I can’t tell you why yet, sorry girls, but I’m really excited about it.”

Whispers about her starring in the new X-Men film are getting stronger and while cuddling up to fella Tom Crane she said she’d “love to star in more films.

Guess who’s up for X-Men..

Hollywood could be getting a sexy new action-hero in the shape of Girls Aloud beauty Sarah Harding.

Word reaches me that Sarah has been for two auditions for the next X-Men film and is waiting to hear if she has bagged the role as a femme fatale baddie.

Yep, you heard me right. Sarah could be heading over to LA to star in a film that will no doubt propel her to international stardom.

My source reveals: “The makers of the films like her attitude and think she could be a great addition to the cast.

“They were very impressed with her in the second St Trinians movie and are testing her out to see if she can make the grade for an action flick like X-Men.

“Everybody’s keeping their fingers crossed she gets it.”

If Sarah were to clinch the role on X-Men: First Class she would be working alongside a more than impressive British line-up. James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult, Rosamund Pike, Alice Eve and Michael Fassbender are already cast in the film, set for release next summer. Meanwhile, fellow band mate Nicola Roberts, who this week launched her Dainty Doll make-up range, has decided to embark on a solo career.

I can reveal she’s secretly been recording new tracks and will announce she’s signed a record deal with Sony Music within weeks.

My mole said: “Nicola got bored of waiting for the girls to regroup, so she thought why not give it a go as a solo star? She wants to do something different to the other girls – something kookier and cooler.

She’s an original girl – and the label want to utilise that fact with her music.” The girls, Sarah with an X-Men look…

who still have a three album deal with Universal imprint Fascination, announced in April that they were taking a year-long break to do individual projects. Cheryl Tweedy has had a great solo career as well as being a judge on X Factor, Kimberley Walsh has forged a TV presenting career and Nadine Coyle is working with William Orbit on her solo album – due for release in November.

These developments for Sarah and Nicola lead me to think we’ll be lucky if we ever get Girls Aloud back…
