Reformed party girl Sarah Harding ushers in a new era as she steps out looking more glamorous than ever

She was once the party girl of Girls Aloud, who was rarely seen without a drink in her hand and attended all the biggest events.

But it seems Sarah Harding is ushering in a new era, judging by the outfit she wore in London on Saturday night.

The 29-year-old singer looked more glamorous than ever, with more than a hint of the 1950s pin-up about her, as she stepped out wearing a chic black bustier dress and heels.

Sarah had also tried a new look with her hair, going for a Marilyn Monroe-inspired look with tumbling curls in her blonde locks.

And, despite the freezing temperatures in London over the weekend, the singer decided to shun a coat to show off her party dress to its full effect for photographers.

Sarah was joined by her Girls Aloud bandmates at Black Eyed Peas’ star will.i.am’s party held at Mayfair’s Red Room club after the band’s performance on The X Factor.

Cheryl’s good friend will.i.am was casual in grey trousers, boots and a black jacket, and but added a unique touch with a Lego Black Eyed Peas shoulder-plate.

And Cheryl’s mother Joan Callaghan, who is never far from her side, also attended after accompanying her daughter to the X Factor show earlier in the evening.

But while Cheryl Cole, Kimberley Walsh and Nicola Roberts all dressed up for the occasion, it was Sarah who was the star of the night in her elegantly understated outfit.

And despite the fact Girls Aloud have been on a break since the beginning of the year, it seems Sarah is currently planning her musical comeback.

The singer is said to be hoping to follow in ever-eccentric Lady Gaga’s footsteps with an edgy debut solo album, and has even teamed up with Gaga’s producer Red One to ensure the record will take the industry by storm.

A source told the Daily Mirror: ‘She wants to be edgier than ever before. She’s very keen to shock. She wants to shake up her entire image.’

But Sarah faces some tough competition from bandmate Cheryl, who once again hit the top of the charts with her second solo record Messy Little Raindrops earlier this year.

In addition, while Kimberley has yet to release entirely solo material, she did team up with I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! contestant Aggro Santos on single Like U Like.

It was also recently claimed that Nicola is the latest member of the pop group to sign a record deal.

A source told News Of The World: ‘Everyone’s so excited about Nicola releasing her own album.

‘She’s very quietly been recording in the studio for the last few months. She’s working with some great people and coming up with some great stuff.’

However, one member of the band who isn’t achieving the same success with her solo material is Nadine Coyle, whose debut solo record Insatiable had disappointing sales and reviews this year.
