SINGER Sarah Harding was such a hit filming her CORRIE cameo the soap bosses want her back on the cobbles.
The St Trinian’s beauty has finished work on almost all of her four episodes as fiery Joanie — a love rival of Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford).
Now Sarah is looking forward to getting back on the Street after the launch of her solo EP — even though she was shocked at just how hard soap stars work.
Speaking at The Pink Ribbon Charity Lunch at Champneys Tring Health Spa this weekend, Sarah said: “I play a woman scorned.
“I am playing Joanie, who is Tracy Barlow’s first husband’s new wife, but he’s never stopped loving Tracy.
“I’m a very fiery character but I’ve also had a lot of emotional scenes.
“It’s hard work in soapland, but everyone is so friendly. I just love it there. Also my family are from up there, and I get to see my friends too.”
Sarah got the job after meeting Corrie boss Stuart Blackburn when she went to visit the set.
She said: “I went there late last year for Good Morning Britain, and they could see straight away that I was a fan.
“They gave me a grand tour and I got chatting to the casting and publicity people. They asked, ‘Can you act?’ and I said ‘I have been known to!’
“When they told me they occasionally have bit-parts, I said, ‘Well, if anything comes up that you feel might be suitable . . . ’ I wangled myself a bit-part and my mum is so jealous. It turns out they’ve given me more episodes to film after my music.
“I don’t know about doing it full-time. You only get about seven days to learn your lines. Sometimes you have to learn on the spot.
“It’s not like when I’ve done films and you learn the script well in advance. I’m nervous because people are going to expect high standards.”
