Update from Sarah

Sarah has posted an update on her twitter and instagram this morning, about what she did over Christmas and talking about her book. She also posted that they are signed book plate editions to buy Here

Hi everyone! I hope you are keeping safe and as well as possible with everything that’s going on. I know I’m not really that present on here which I promise I’ll try to get a bit better at, as honestly it means the world to me when I come on and see all your well wishes. Thank you for the love and support, on bad days it helps me so much. So here’s a little update from me… Mum, the dogs and I had a really lovely but quiet Christmas together, which was different to my usual, but seemed a fitting way to end such a strange year. And since then, in between treatments and hospital visits I’ve managed to finish my book! I can’t believe I’ve actually gone and done it and it’s now at the printers! I’m so excited for it to come out:

‘I can’t rewrite history; all I can do is be honest and wear my heart on my sleeve. It’s really the only way I know. I want to show people the real me. Or perhaps remind them. Because, somewhere – amongst the nightclubs, the frocks and hairdos, the big chart hits, and the glamour of being a popstar – the other Sarah Harding got utterly lost. She’s the one who’s been forgotten. And all I want is for you to hear her out.’

I called the book ‘Hear Me Out’ because it’s the title of the song I wrote on the second Girls Aloud album and I’ve always really loved it. The lyrics have always meant a lot to me. It’s been lovely revisiting our songs, looking back over photos and writing down memories from my last 39 years. I really hope you might enjoy reading about them too. There’s a link in my biog if you’d like to order a copy. There are some signed ones available too. It’s coming out on March 18 and I can’t wait… argh!!!

Sending you all lots of love, S x

Pre Order

Hi everyone. Thank you so much for all the messages of love and support that I’ve received since my last post. Everyone has been so kind and reading your comments and DMs has been such a huge source of strength to me.
I can’t deny that things are tough right now but I’m fighting as hard as I possibly can and being as brave as I know how.
In September the lovely people at Ebury Publishing asked me if I’d be interested in writing a book about my life story. It came at such a good time as it’s given me something fun & positive to focus on while I’ve been stuck at home in between trips to the hospital for treatment.
I’ve nearly finished it now and this week Mum and I have been looking though old photos, choosing which ones to include. It’ll be out after Christmas and I’m really proud of it. I hope you’ll like it. Sending lots of love to everyone – I hope you’re all keeping well – S x

Sarah battling cancer

Sarah has posted a devastating update on instagram and twitter this morning

I hope you are all keeping safe and well during these uncertain times. I’ve not posted on here for so long, thank you to everyone who has reached out to check in on me, it really does mean a lot.
I feel now is the right time to share what’s been going on. There’s no easy way to say this and actually it doesn’t even feel real writing this, but here goes.
Earlier this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer and a couple of weeks ago I received the devastating news that the cancer has advanced to other parts of my body. I’m currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy sessions and I am fighting as hard as I possibly can.
I understand this might be shocking to read on social media and that really isn’t my intention. But last week it was mentioned online that I had been seen in hospital, so I feel now is the time to let people know what’s going on and this is the best way I can think of to do so.
My amazing mum, family and close friends are helping me through this, and I want to say a thank you to the wonderful NHS doctors and nurses who have been and continue to be heroes.
I am doing my very best to keep positive and will keep you updated here with how I’m getting on. In the meantime I hope you’ll all understand and respect my request for privacy during this difficult time.
Sending you all so much love….xx

Sarah’s Birthday Charity Fundraiser 2018

For the past 5 years we’ve raised money for charity for Sarah’s birthday, this year we thought we’d raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

As many of you will remember one of Sarah’s friends passed away from breast cancer earlier this year and Claire (One half of Sarah Harding Addicts) was diagnosed with breast cancer this year so we thought that raising money for a breast cancer charity seemed appropriate. Claire found this charity amazingly helpful this year as will most people diagnosed with breast cancer, the help, support and information they provided Claire with this year was so helpful

You can also donate by text by texting SHBC81 followed by the amount you want to donate to 70070

Breast Cancer Care are the only specialist UK-wide charity providing support for anyone affected by breast cancer.

What Breast Cancer Care do

We combine the personal experiences of people affected by breast cancer with clinical expertise, using this in a unique way to:

    •  provide

information

    •  on living with and beyond breast cancer

    • offer emotional and practical support through our services and Helpline

    • bring people affected by breast cancer together through our services and Forum

    • campaign for improvement in standards of support and care

    • promote the importance of early detection.

How we work

We focus our work on the unique experience of each individual affected by breast cancer.

We involve people with breast cancer in all that we do.

We use our understanding of the emotional and practical issues facing
people affected by breast cancer alongside our clinical expertise.

Facing breast cancer together

During the early part of 2014 we revisited our 10-year strategy and
refreshed it to bring new energy and focus for everyone working with or
for us.

Vision 2020

During 2010 we consulted with a range of people – including our
users, breast care nurses, our volunteers, staff and trustees – to draw
up plans for how we should work in the coming decade.

As a result, we are concentrating our efforts in seven key areas of
impact. We believe this will help us make a life-changing difference to
even more people affected by breast cancer.

Sarah Launches Blue Cross Tea Party Campaign

http://www.bluecross.org.uk/paws-tea

Sarah Harding came face to face with homeless kittens and cats as she teamed up with Blue Cross to launch the national pet charity’s Paws for Tea campaign.

The Girls Aloud singer is calling on animal lovers everywhere to host a tea party with friends and family in aid of Blue Cross after visiting the charity’s rehoming centre in Lewknor, Oxfordshire.

This year Blue Cross is aiming to raise £70,000 with its Paws for Tea campaign which calls on people to host tea parties in their homes or offices. All money raised from the campaign will support the tens of thousands of sick, injured and abandoned dogs, cats, small animals and horses Blue Cross helps every year through its rehoming centres and animal hospitals across the country.

During her visit to Blue Cross Lewknor, Sarah met five-week-old kittens Sage and Salsa. The kittens were born at the rehoming centre earlier this year after their mother Mouse was brought in heavily pregnant.

The Celebrity Big Brother 2017 winner also met Italian greyhound Gino who was rehomed by Blue Cross in 2015. The five year old regularly returns to the rehoming centre to act as an ambassador dog – a role which sees him provide canine support to other dogs who may be nervous in their new surroundings or unsure of being around other dogs.
Sarah, who has dogs and cats of her own, said: “My pets are like my best friends and I just couldn’t be without them. After meeting some of the beautiful cats and dogs needing homes at Blue Cross’ Lewknor centre, I’m so proud to be supporting the charity and really hope I can encourage lots of animal lovers to take part in the Blue Cross Paws for Tea campaign.”

“It’s so simple – just get together with your friends or family over a nice brew and a slice of something tasty. You’ll not only have a lovely time, but the money you raise will help Blue Cross change the lives of pets all over the country. Go on, pop the kettle on for these wonderful pets!

“I remember growing up we always had Battenberg cake in the house, which was brilliant, but I think my all-time favourite remains butterfly cakes because I just love the buttercream icing – I could literally just eat that all day and I would be happy!”
Celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott has also shared his recipe for Spiced Pumpkin Cake with Coconut Custard for this year’s campaign.

In 2017, Blue Cross helped 40,000 sick and injured pets through its rehoming centres and animal hospitals across the country. The pet charity also provides a range of other free services including a Pet Bereavement Support Service and education visits to schools, colleges and youth groups.

Heather Collin, Blue Cross Community and Events Regional Manager, said: “We’re so excited to have Sarah on board supporting our Paws for Tea campaign this year.

“Blue Cross helps tens of thousands of pets every year and it’s events like Paws for Tea which raise the vital funds to make that possible as being a charity we receive no Government funding.

“This year we’re hoping to raise £70,000 – with every penny going towards helping animals coming through the doors of our rehoming centres and animal hospitals across the country every day.”
To sign up for a free Paws for Tea fundraising pack, full of ideas and recipes including Ainsley’s; posters; balloons and a collection box visit www.bluecross.org.uk/paws-tea or call 08444 993 663.

Sarah Harding Supports Help For Our Friend

Sarah over the weekend tweeted her support for her childhood friend who has metastatic breast cancer in the lungs, she encouraged people to donate, if you want to donate you can on the link below.

http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/help-for-a-friend-in-need/

I’m supporting @crowdfunderuk http://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/help-for-a-friend-in-need/ … @HelpOurFriend1 Friends since college 😥 #f**k #cancer #cancerpreventionmonth Everybody at some point in thier life is touched or lost somebody they love to this demon..it’s time for us to fight back!!
Too many people I love and cherish are being struck by this heart wrenching disease..so not just for my childhood bestie, but for each and every poor soul who has to go through this agonising and cruel battle somewhere every day and their poor loved ones who endure this too

I know and understand that for many, money is tight these days, but even if everyone who sees/retweets this or has been emotionally affected in similar circumstances and want to help support just a single cause of many, many more who are also in need or similar situations…
… just a pound from those who can relate and want to help raise awareness and make way for a wider spread re evaluation regarding the ridiculous costs for those in dire need who can’t afford life saving treatments, but also more conscientious approaches to the many alternative..
…therapies and holistic approaches which have in many cases proven successful, we need to keep campaigning and hard….
(granted I could list many selfless and amazing charities that campaign and support millions of cases everyday and give up their own precious time to help; which I admire so much❤…everybody deserves a right to equality and life, so please….
….not just for my own personal reasons, but all souls worldwide, u never know when/where or who it may strike next; even us one day 😔….so with all this in mind peeps, let’s stand united please! …in a world full of war, poverty, hunger and destruction….
….a choice most of us would not choose to endure amongst just a few crises, HERE, NOW, we have the right to #StandUpToCancer…, which is nobody’s choice should it affect you or your loved ones in someway 😔…
…so once again, please … let’s work even harder to help stamp this out!!! We need to help each other to help ourselves!….this is the 4th case close to me in two weeks and enough is enough. It’s time to #StandUnited
